| TB T1502 | TriniCLOT Factor II | 10x1 ml | 1-3 days | x |
TriniCLOT Factor IITriniCLOT Factor II Deficient Human Plasma is intended for the quantitative determination of factor in human plasma by clotting assay. Factor II or prothrombin, is a vitamin K dependent clotting factor which is the inactive precursor of thrombin. Thrombin is generated from prothrombin upon activation by Factor Xa. This reaction takes place on a phospholipid surface in the presence of calcium ions and requires Factor V as a cofactor. Plasma samples which are severely deficient in Factor II, V, VII or X have a greatly prolonged activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT) and/or prothrombin time (PT). When a patient’s plasma is mixed with plasma known to be deficient in one specific factor (congenital or immunodepleted), the degree of correction of the clotting time is proportional to the level of this factor in the patient’s plasma. |
