TriniCLOT Factor XTriniCLOT Factor X Deficient Human Plasma is intended for the quantitative determination of factor in human plasma by clotting assay. Factor X is a clotting factor which when activated to Factor Xa results in the activation of prothrombin to thrombin in the presence of calcium, Factor Va and phospholipid. Plasma samples which are severely deficient in Factor X have a greatly prolonged prothrombin time PT) and activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT). Plasma samples which are severely deficient in Factor II, V, VII or X have a greatly prolonged activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT) and/or prothrombin time (PT). When a patient’s plasma is mixed with plasma known to be deficient in one specific factor (congenital or immunodepleted), the degree of correction of the clotting time is proportional to the level of this factor in the patient’s plasma. |
