TriniCLOT Factor XI Deficient Human Plasma is intended for the quantitative determination of factor in human plasma by clotting assay.

Factor XI is a clotting factor which upon activation by Factor XIIa during contact activation, results in the rapid calcium dependent activation of Factor IX to Factor IXa.
  Plasma samples which are severely deficient in Factor VIII, IX, X or XII have a greatly prolonged activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT). When a patient’s plasma is mixed with a plasma known to be deficient in one specific factor (congenital or immunodepleted), the degree of correction of the clot time is proportional to the level of this factor in the patient’s plasma.
