TriniCLOT Factor XIITriniCLOT Factor XII Deficient Human Plasma is intended for the quantitative determination of factor in human plasma by clotting assay. Factor XII is a clotting factor which becomes activated when it comes in contact with glass or kaolin. Activated Factor XII together with Factor XI can cause the activation of Factor IX. Plasma samples which are severely deficient in Factor VIII, IX, X or XII have a greatly prolonged activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT). When a patient’s plasma is mixed with a plasma known to be deficient in one specific factor (congenital or immunodepleted), the degree of correction of the clot time is proportional to the level of this factor in the patient’s plasma. |
