MDA Verify 2
MDA® Verify® 2 and MDA® Verify® 3 are Iyophilized human plasmas in which Factors II, VII, IX,
and X have been selectively and partially removed, that may be used as controls to monitor
thrombosis and hemostasis assays.
Assays such as the one-stage Prothrombin Time (PT), Activated Partial Thromboplastin Time
(APTT), Thrombin Time (TT), and Fibrinogen are routinely used to identify and quantitate
anomalies in hemostatic mechanisms. These methods may also be used to monitor antithrombotic or hemostatic therapy. Many factors can influence a hemostasis assay measurement such as sample or reagent volume, reaction temperature, activation time, reagent quality, and the clot detection system (instrumentation). To assess these variables and assure the accuracy and reproducibility of hemostasis assay results, control materials are used during routine testing. The use of control materials is essential to verify the performance of an analytical system. When available, both normal and abnormal level controls are recommended since determinations within and outside the normal range are equally significant.
MDA Verify 2 and MDA Verify 3 are control plasmas consisting of human plasma, buffer, and
protein stabilizers that have been Iyophilized to maintain the integrity of the constituents. These
controls are available at two levels that mimic the upper and lower level of the commonly
accepted therapeutic range for oral anticoagulant therapy. The use of MDA Verify 2 and MDA
Verify 3 in conjunction with the companion product, MDA® Verify® 1, in a comprehensive Quality Control Program conveniently confirms the accuracy and reproducibility of the hemostasis assay system.
