TrinyCHECK Control 3TriniCHECK Control 2 and TriniCHECK Control 3 are lyophilized human plasmas in which Factors II, VII, IX, and X have been selectively and partially removed, to be used as abnormal controls in the Prothrombin Time (PT) and Activated Partial Thromboplastin Time (APTT) test procedures. The one-stage Prothrombin Time (PT) and Activated Partial Thromboplastin Time (APTT) test procedures are routinely used to identify and quantitate deficiencies in the clotting mechanism as well as to monitor oral anticoagulant therapy. Many factors can influence a coagulation test measurement such as sample or reagent volume, reaction temperature, activation time, reagent quality, and the clot detection system (instrumentation). To assess these variables and assure the accuracy of coagulation test results, control materials are used during routine testing. The use of control materials is essential to verify the performance of a test system. Both normal and abnormal controls are recommended since determinations outside and within the normal range are equally significant. TriniCHECK Control 2 and TriniCHECK Control 3 are control plasmas consisting of human plasmas, buffer, and protein stabilizers that have been lyophilized to maintain the integrity of the constituents. The control is available at two levels that mimic the upper and lower level of the commonly accepted therapeutic range for oral anticoagulant therapy. The use of TriniCHECK Control 2 and TriniCHECK Control 3 in conjunction with their companion product, TriniCHECK Control 1, in a comprehensive Quality Control Program conveniently confirms the accuracy and reproducibility of the coagulation test system. |
