Pefabloc Xa-3000 (TAPA)The benzamidine moiety is a key structure for the development of inhibitors of trypsin-like enzymes. It mimics the protonated side-chain of the basic amino acids Arg and Lys wich is hydrolysed by these enzymes. Pefabloc Xa, a derivative of benzamidine, is a selective competitive inhibitor of factor Xa. Pefabloc Xa can be used in diagnostic systems, analytical applications and industrial processes to exclude undesired activity of factor Xa in the presence of othe serine proteases (e.g. other clotting factors). |
