Noscarin, 0,5The prothrombin activator present in the venom of the mainland tiger snake (Notechis scutatus) cleaves the Arg274-Thr275 and Arg323-Ile324 bonds of bovine prothrombin. Prethrombin and meizothrombin occur as intermediates during prothrombin activation. This venom activity on prothrombin is greatly stimulated by the presence of Ca2+, phospholipids and FVa. This activator slowly converts factor Xa specific chromogenic substrates. |
