Epinephrine 100 µMHart Biologicals Platelet Aggregation Reagents are used to diagnose platelet dysfunction, or normal platelet activity in human platelet rich plasma. Epinephrine induces two distinct waves of aggregation in normal platelet rich plasma (70 – 90% total aggregation). Abnormal Epinephrine aggregation will be observed in Glanzmann’s Thrombasthaenia, storage pool disease, aspirin-like defect of the release reaction and following aspirin ingestion. Some reports indicate that 20-50% of the normal population will only show a sinlge wave of aggregation with Epinephrine. |
