Ristocetin 10 mg/mlHart Biologicals Platelet Aggregation Reagents are used to diagnose platelet dysfunction, or normal platelet activity in human platelet rich plasma. In the presence of von Willebrand factor, ristocetin induced platelet aggregation occurs as either a biphasic reaction curve, or as a single wave of aggregation (70-90% total aggregation). In the first wave of the biphasic reaction, platelets agglutinate with von Willebrand factor in the presence of ristocetin. The second phase is aggregation due to the release of endogenous ADP from the platelets. |
